This cotton is a pre-1860 heirloom variety called Nankeen that is naturally brown. The color doesn't fade with washing. This hardy variety is said to be easy to spin off the seed. It has short fibers, a long blooming cycle, grows well in dry, poor soil, and has white and pink flowers. Cotton requires a long, warm, growing season to mature properly. Seed germinates in 7 to 21 days. Plants take about 150 days to mature a crop of bolls and grow to a height of 48" - 60". It is the customer's responsibility to comply with state regulations, if any. I cannot ship these seeds to AZ, CA, GA or MS.
